Cultural and Heritage Centre

The Arts are central to church life. Many of our activities take place within beautiful buildings while our services combine drama, literature, music, poetry and visuals. Our churches are also places to enjoy cultural programmes including concerts and exhibitions as well as being places to see art and architecture.

Music

Concerts are regularly organised and held in our churches. Open Mic Nights provide local performers with the opportunity to gain exposure and experience of performing.

Performances

A range of performances also take place including dance, physical theatre, poetry readings and writer's group readings.

Visual Arts

Exhibitions are organised on a termly basis at St Andrew's Church and local schools visit for art workshops linked to these exhibitions. In addition, art workshops and craft fairs are also held. Heritage displays have also been organised through Basildon Heritage. 

Talks

A range of cultural and heritage talks are also organised on a regular basis. Groups with which we have worked included Basildon Heritage and Wickford Community Archive.
